Tribal Foundations and Shimmy Power
Dance Conditioning, Marcus Center, Downtown.
We begin our day with some dance conditioning based on the Woman Power Workout, created by Carolena
Nericcio and Karen Andes. This 30 minutes segment includes warm up, conditioning for legs, a lively veil sequence for strong
arms and a shimmy drill. This dance conditioning segment is also great
for male belly dancers!!Next is Tribal Foundations. In this 90 minute workshop we introduce the concept of American
Tribal Style belly dance, proper posture, basic slow and fast moves, intro to zils and formations. You will get the chance
to work in small groups to create your very own improvisational dance!
This workshop is perfect for beginners, and a great review for experienced dancers. Saturday, 2/27 10am-12pm $25 Bring a 3 yd. silk or poly
veil, or other light sarong or scarf. We will also have a limited supply of veils on hand to loan out.
